Implants

A long-lasting choice, implant-supported dentistry brings you as close to growing new teeth as possible. Implants themselves are surgical-grade titanium parts that mimic missing tooth roots and provide a foundation upon which your dentist can build new teeth onto. An excellent choice for one or more missing teeth, dentures can also be attached to implants to replace all of your teeth, also known as the “All on 6” or “All on 4” prosthesis (pictured below).

Implants (Surgical)

The first step towards replacing teeth with implants involves a consultation with Dr. Mathai and with an oral surgeon to determine the best treatment plan for you. From there, the implants are placed and allowed to integrate into your jaw. This healing period usually lasts from 3-6 months. Most patients experience minimal discomfort after placement, and depending on the nature and location of your implant(s), a temporary prosthesis may be made for you.

Implants (Restorative)

After the healing period, crowns or bridges will be custom-made and attached to the implants with small screws. This involves one or several record-taking appointments to convey all the needed information about your bite and smile to the dental lab. You will also likely receive a night guard to protect your implants from breakage and damage due to clenching/grinding habits and will be given oral hygiene instructions customized to your case.
